I’m off the charts this weekend for our 3rd annual all girls Big Sur camping trip! This year there are 14 of us making the trek to our “secret spot” tucked away on a quiet dirt road overlooking the most breathtaking ocean views. Like years previous, I am sure there will be plenty of dancing under the stars, hiking in the incredible mountains, drinking at Nepenthe, and indulging in some very special homemade brownies. I hope you find some time this weekend to dance, or indulge, or simply to just be with those you love.
Here at home in Santa Barbara it feels like fall has finally arrived gifting us with the most crisp, delightful mornings—mornings that energize the body, awaken the senses. Mornings that fill your cup to the brim and overflow into others…
These past few weeks I have been honored to work with the lovely Ms. Salvo from Design Loves Company in creating a new poster for my office. My intention was to buy a poster because god knows any sort of creative project is usually beyond my scope of patience, but after searching online I didn’t find a poster that felt like the right fit for my office. So, I collaged a sea of green and blue from some of my favorite landscape photos and asked Annie to write one of my favorite Mary Oliver quotes in her beautiful handwriting. The photos I included are from the Santa Rosa Channel Islands, Big Sur (the view from our secret spot!!!), Yosemite’s John Muir Trail- Cathedral Peak and Cathedral Lake, Chiloe- a wonderful magical place in Chile, and Lake Atitlan in Guatemala. This is what we came up with.
So….tell me, what is it you plan to do with your one wild and precious life?
