my 28th year on this wonderful Earth…

“Namaste- I greet the love & light in you, which is the same in me, and in all beings.” I included this handwritten note in each of the sack lunches. I will carry this one word with so much meaning into my 28th year as well.

In the weeks leading up to my birthday I got asked a lot: “what do you want?” and “what are you going to do?” These two questions lead me to this morning, driving down State Street with Cherise at 7am to deliver hot soup and sammies to the first 10 homeless people we saw before heading in to work. For my birthday this year, I wanted to give a little more than I took. I wanted to tread a little more gently on this wonderful Earth, with more grace and less stress, with more humility and less judgment.

I carry into my 28th year the 10 smiles exchanged this morning, the 10 “thank yous” and the 1 sweet hug. I also carry with me a full, full heart.

Chicken noodle soup in the making!

I just love this bowl- never fails to make me smile.
