I’ve been using this term cocooning a lot lately in reference to my nightly ritual of escaping the cold and wrapping up tightly in layers upon layers of blankets; tucking first my toes, then my legs, my hips, my shoulders, my head, and last finding a place for my arms that have done all the work. It’s a space that only I physically inhabit, but that many others visit. It’s a portal to dreamland, to faraway landscapes, images, and people; a space that supports and demands inward reflection and understanding. I now use cocooning to describe any action that allows for this magical inward transformation, which for me includes the writing process itself.  As I write this blog, I am literally cocooning myself in words, and for phonetic’s sake, I am cocooning inwards as well.

This blog is a space dedicated to cocooning.

About me: Above all other descriptions, I am like you. I am a beam of pure light and love vibrating energy inwards and outwards. I am honored to share this space with you. I welcome you to stay awhile.

I am also a practicing yogi, an avid hiker, and a life-long student. I feel most alive when I am travelling or cocooning.

“Your task is not to seek for love, but merely to seek and find all the barriers within yourself that you have built against it.” ― Rumi

This is a really lovely blog – I like your idea of “cocooning” – I have never thought of it in quite that way, but it is really a beautiful thought…..
